It is amazing that so many people tend to abuse their bodies when they are young and later on, when they are aged and sick, would give almost anything to regain their youthful vigor. Despite numerous health teachings carried out by healthcare professionals and the media, there are still a lot who continue to smoke, drink heavily and binge on fast food.

The World Health Organisation (WHO), has already acknowledged that ‘lifestyle’ diseases “are now the leading cause of death around the world“. These types of diseases, which include diabetes and hypertension, are preventable; if only people, especially high-risk ones, take better care of their bodies.

So, are you in need of motivation to kick some unhealthy habits? You could take a few pointers from Australian supermodel and wellness enthusiast, Miranda Kerr. She is an advocate for organic produce and yoga. Since June 21 (yes, Prince William’s birthday!), together with online luxury fashion retailer Net-A-Porter, she has released several Youtube videos that are part of the Body Beautiful series.

Here, Miranda shares her personal health tips such as starting the morning with warm water and the juice of half a lemon. When you finish watching her wellness videos (others focus on fashion and style), it is clear that the Aussie is passionate about organic fruits and vegetables, especially organic coconut oil. She even shows the viewers basic yoga moves.

It may take some time to embrace a healthy lifestyle but we should remind ourselves that we are doing it because first and foremost, WE SHOULD LOVE OURSELVES. Give your body all the love and care it needs. If you won’t, then who else will?
